I did about a decade ago. A filing cracked, allowing decay to resume in a tooth, causing me to lose it. I haven't had any problems with the implant, and I highly recommend the procedure.

Misquotes from the "Reasoning Book" re: Cross (scans included)
by AlphaOmega inthe "reasoning book" claims that the 1874 edition of the imperial bible dictionary verifies the idea that jesus was crucified on a stake.
however, when you check the reference with the imperial bible dictionary, you see that it acutally is not as clear cut as that.. as usual, the infamous "..." of the watchtower has been used to edit out any opposing ideas in the source that they cite.. i know that this may have been mentioned before, but the scans of the imperial bible dictionary that are floating around the internet are from later editions, hence the page numbers are not those cited in the reasoning book.. .

The quote from Living With Jehovah's Day In Mind is the quote I was referencing. However, there is more starting in paragraph 10 and on to page 116. (The scan ended with paragraph 9.)
Starting at paragraph 10, "The prophets realized that even men and women dedicated to Jehovah at times ignore what he wants from them. Hosea expressed God's feelings about some in his day: "Despoiling to them, for they have transgressed against me! And I myself proceeded to redeem them, but they themselves have spoken lies even against me." Beyond telling direct and undeniable lies against Jehovah, some gave in to "the pronouncing of curses and practicing deception," perhaps distorting facts so as to mislead others. (Hosea 4:1, 2; 7:3, 13; 10:4, 12:1) Hosea wrote those words in Samaria, the northern kingdom. Were things better in Judah? Micha tells us: "Her own rich men have become full of violence, and her own inhabitants have spoken falsehoods, and their tongue is tricky in their mouth." (Micah 6:12) It is good that we be aware of how those prophets condemned the "practicing of deception" and those whose "tongue is tricky in their mouth." Thus even Christians, who would certainly not tell deliberate lies, can ask: "Might I a times practice deception or have a tricky tongue in my mouth? What does God desire of me in this respect?"

but the spirit of the article in the Reasoning Book is dishonest
Preaching to the choir here Alpha. That's why one of my favorite quotes is from one the new books that says, in effect, if you say something in a manner that may be technically correct but purposefully leads someone to an incorrect conclusion, you are lying. This is what they are doing, and by their own mouths, it is lying.

Thank you for your work, and posting the PDF. However, I looked in the Reasoning book, and it appears the WTBTS is using this quote somewhat properly. The sentence preceding this quote says, "Later it also came to be used for an execution stake having a cross piece." Note: "...having a cross piece." Then, they use this quote.
In the next paragraph, they start their argument against a cross starting with this sentence,"Was that the case in connection with the execution of God's Son?"
The first paragraph is very confusing. I must admit in all my life as a JW, I NEVER saw the preceeding sentence. They argue for and against in cross in one paragraph, and it is confusing as to just what the Imperial Dictionary "acknowledges." As is documented, they use only the part that argues against the cross.

(CNN) -- Randy Pausch, the professor whose "last lecture" became a runaway phenomenon on the Internet and was turned into a best-selling book, died Friday of pancreatic cancer, Carnegie Mellon University announced on its Web site.
Randy Pausch emphasized the joy of life in his "last lecture," originally given in September 2007.
Pausch, 47, a computer science professor, delivered the lecture, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," at Carnegie Mellon in September 2007, a month after being told he had three to six months to live because his cancer had returned.
The lanky, energetic Pausch talked about goals he had accomplished, like experiencing zero gravity and creating Disney attractions, and those he had not, including becoming a professional football player.
He used rejections he was handed when he applied for jobs at Disney to comment on the importance of persistence.
"The brick walls are there for a reason ... to show us how badly we want something," he said. "Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough. They're there to stop the other people."

Starting with a joke about "a deathbed conversion" -- "I just bought a Macintosh" computer -- the educator went on to say that one of his childhood dreams was to write an entry in the World Book Encyclopedia.
"I guess you can tell the nerds early," he added.

An expert in virtual reality, Pausch did go on to write an encyclopedia entry on the subject.
He discussed his fondness for winning stuffed animals at fairs, showed a slide of them, then -- pretending to be concerned his audience would think the image had been digitally manipulated -- produced them onstage.
Donning silly costume items like a vest with arrows sticking out of it and a Mad Hatter's hat, he described working with students as a way to help other people achieve their dreams.
He also played down his own importance, saying that after he got a Ph.D., his mother took to introducing him as "a doctor, but not the kind who helps people."
The lecture has been viewed more than 3.2 million times since it was posted on YouTube in December.
Pausch co-founded the university's Entertainment Technology Center and was known for developing interdisciplinary courses and research projects that attracted new students to the field of computer science. He also spent his career encouraging computer scientists to collaborate with artists, dramatists and designers, Carnegie Mellon said.
The university's president, Jared Cohon, described Pausch as "a brilliant researcher and gifted teacher."
"His love of teaching, his sense of fun and his brilliance came together in the Alice project, which teaches students computer programming while enabling them to do something fun -- making animated movies and games," Cohon added. "Carnegie Mellon -- and the world -- are better places for having had Randy Pausch in them."
Pausch describes Cohon urging him to talk about having fun in his lecture, and telling him it's difficult because it's like asking a fish to talk about water.
"I don't know how not to have fun," he said. "I'm dying and I'm having fun. And I'm going to keep having fun every day I have left."
Pausch is survived by his wife, Jai, and three children. E-mail to a friend

who thinks kate is mean to jon?.

I love the show. I look at Kate and Jon, and I still see love between them. THAT is amazing considering the stresses they are under. Kate's a little OCD, but in all honesty, if I were stuck home in the same situation, I would probably be worse than she.
